In short

One key, one computer, moved whenever you change computers. Use what you make in your own and your clients' paid work, without credit. Don't share or resell Hextion, its templates or your key.

By installing or using Hextion you agree to these terms. "I" and "me" mean the maker of Hextion, who makes and licenses it.

1. Licence

When you buy Hextion you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Hextion and its updates on one computer that you own or mainly use. "One computer" means one machine and its operating system. Commercial work is allowed: you may use Hextion and the animations, templates and presets it creates in your own and your clients' projects, including paid ones, without credit.

2. Moving computers

You may move your licence to another computer of yours. For a key bought on gethextion.com, press Remove key here in Settings > Licence on the old computer, then activate on the new one.

3. What you may not do

You may not share, resell, rent, sublicense or publish Hextion, its code, its templates or presets, or your licence key, in whole or in part, or as part of another tool, template pack or preset pack. You may not remove or work around the licence check.

4. Trial

The 7-day trial is for evaluation only, once per computer.

5. What the licence check sends

When you activate or recheck, Hextion sends your key, its product ID and, for a key bought on gethextion.com, a label with the word Mac or Windows and a random code. The shop sees your IP address. Nothing about your projects is sent. Details are in the privacy policy.

6. Third-party content

Hextion installs template fonts under the SIL Open Font Licence, and Yellowtail under the Apache Licence 2.0; each font folder includes its licence. The optional icon library downloads from public open-source projects under their own licences (MIT, Apache, ISC, MPL, CC0, OFL or CC BY); the Icons page shows each set's licence and any credit it asks for. Brand and platform logos in the icon library belong to their owners; using them in your work is your responsibility. The Windows ring helper includes Microsoft WebView2 SDK files under Microsoft's licence. Preview pictures and clips inside the panel come from Pexels under the Pexels licence. ElevenLabs (auto captions) is a separate service under its own terms and pricing.

7. Hextion Sounds

The 300 Hextion Sounds in the Media page are Hextion's own. You may use them in your own and your clients' projects, including paid ones. You may not resell or share them as sounds.

8. Updates

Every future update of Hextion, including version 2 and later, is included in your licence at no extra cost. If a shop's licence server shuts down for good, I will release an update of Hextion that works without it.

9. Refunds

Refunds follow the refund policy. A refunded licence stops working.

10. Premiere Pro

Hextion is built for Adobe After Effects. Parts of it, such as the Media browser and the LUTs, can be used with Adobe Premiere Pro.

11. No warranty

Hextion is provided as is, without any warranty. Save your work and keep backups. To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for any loss or damage arising from using Hextion; in any case liability is limited to the price you paid. Nothing here limits consumer rights that can't be limited by contract.

12. Termination

The licence ends if you break these terms. On termination, uninstall Hextion and delete all copies.

13. Law

This licence is governed by the laws of India. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your own country.
